Those .45 Rugers are famous for having undersized cylinder throats. Slug your bore and chambers and see what you have. My latest sheriff vaquero had .449-.450 throats and a .4515 bore. Ain't gonna work! After I opened the holes up to .452 and firelapped the constriction out of the bore where it threads into the frame, it shoots like crazy and no more leading. It was unusuable as issued. Of course after you open the throats, size your bullets so they are a tight thumb press in the throats, use good lube and don't cast them too hard. You'll be happy.
