Geez,

How can you love a green-colored laminated stock, with stainless steel metal.  Could anything be uglier and less classic looking?  It looks like it was made by inmates in a prison shop.  :-)

I like the stock, its like the same kind they put on my 917vs.
I think that the stainless and laminate really go together.

everyone has their own opinion. :-)

I like the looks of stainless and walnut, but laminate or synthetic are more practical in an all weather gun.

Ahhh, I just like the laminated stock...  But I think it is grey, not green.

Now if I was going hunting in extreme conditions, the stainless would be nice as well.

Just FYI, I talked to Marlin's Parts Dept. this morning, and those laminated stocks are not available for order - yet...

Once they finish the initial production run of the XLR rifles, they will probably have the laminated sets as a replacement part.

Maybe...

I'll check back in 6 months or so, and not hold my breath!

boy Howdy, I'm with those that think the new marlin is a winner. I love the laminated stock and stainless concept more than any of the recent rifle introductions from anyone. My bet is it makes the introduction of the 450 a few years ago look anemic! I hope it works out and I get one of the laminate stocks in my gun safe soon. realidahorock

The 1895 XLRs should be out in early April.  I've got one on order to match my 336.

That long barrel sure makes me wonder if I shouldn't grab 336XLR to make a lever action silhouette rifle out of...

I got to handle a 336 XLR a couple of weeks ago and they are real nice. I would like some laminated gray stocks like that on my GS. I hope they make the laminated gray available in a staight stock. We will see...

I'm a blue man  :)  and i think that laminated stock would look better wrapping around blue metal.
