Ruger MKII Saftey Question
« on: February 20, 2006, 03:15:09 AM »
Hi All, I've got two Ruger M77 rifles one an M77 Express and the other a M77 RSM. When I work the saftey on the M77 Express it stops cleanly at all three positions. When I work the saftey on the M77 RSM it doesn't stop and "click" cleanly into the second and third positions, just slides by. It functions like it should in those positions - just no "click" into place. I did have my smith adjust the trigger pull. Is there a fix for this? Change it to a M70 style saftey? Or is it time for a trip back to the smith? Thanks CEJ...
If I can't take my rifles with me, I don't want to go!

Ruger MKII Saftey Question
« Reply #1 on: February 20, 2006, 04:37:24 AM »
Hi C,

I have a few M77's MKII and none of mine have any clicks in the safety whatsoever.  The safety itself is a pie shaped peice of metal that slides along a small triangular shelf on the trigger.  When the pie piece on the safety is lined up with the same piece on the trigger the safety is off.  There are no detent balls or click mechanisms that I can see.

Very Curious....
