after much hand-ringing and walking & talking to myself,i finally found a load that my 223 ultra excels with. all loads that i previously tried shot 3" or worse @ 100 yds, with major vertical stringing. but no more.
my new pet load is;    28.0 grs of AA2230 behind a hornady 50 gr V-max and a CCI 450 magnum primer. several 5 shot groups-all bullets touching in each group and no vertical stringing.
look out song-dogs,here i come.

Congrats Dennis,

Sometimes it takes a while to find a load that works.

this is a new experience for me.before, when i got a new gun,i would try about 6 or 7 different loads.and usually one of them would really shine thru.but with this ultra-it was really a struggle.it took dozens of load / bullet combinations. i was beginning to doubt myself.
thanks,dennis

You're not alone, many, many handloaders have tried to match Win whitebox accuracy without luck, that's why it's considered the gold standard for .223 Handy/Ultra accuracy.
