Hi guys. just found this place. got to say I like the site alot. Well now for the hard part. I haven't trapped in 20 years and I don't currently own any traps. But it has always been something i have wanted to get back into. I live in northern illinois and just found out I can trap beavers till march 31st. So here are the questions. Are the beaver hides worth anything this late in the season? I would be trapping in a flooded creek area that the beavers are working heavily. I am restricted to water sets due to the landowners dog being free to roam so what are the high percentage spots to look for? I would also like any info on what books,magizines to read up on asI hope to trap all season next yr at the same spot. What size conibear traps do I get for beavers? What works beast for stakes beaver sets? Do alot of you trap this late into the season? I am really looking forward to trying this. It will give me a great excuse to get back in the woods.
