Winchester 94 question
« on: February 22, 2006, 02:21:52 PM »
Hi guys,

I have a pre 64 Winchester 94 in 32 Win Special made in 1963.  On the side of the receiver there are 2 holes near the top of the receiver by the hammer and I'm wondering if at that time Winchester pre drilled for a peep sight? If so which one a Williams or a Lyman? If anyone knows I would appreciate the info.

Thanks,

Robert...

You're right, and the holes should work for either sight. :D

Winchester did not pre-drill the receiver as a matter of course.  Rarely, a special order sight would be put on the gun, but most likely, your gun was drilled after it left the factory.

Great sights, accurate and easy to use.

Thanks for the info.  I just bought this gun and It doesn't look like a sight was ever put there.  Also,  the way it looks, it looks factory done. I did shoot it with the regular sights but ran out of sight adjustment.  I'm about 5" high at 100 yards.  Does anyone know where I can get a higher front bead for it?

Thanks again,
