I still would like to see one done. An interesting project, if nothing else. And no one that I know of has one... 8)

 You are on track for sure. I'm really looking forward to this, make sure to bring the Camera, pics are most needed!
Where did you get the reamer from? How long did it take you?
What ammo are you starting with?

well i did it. i went to the range to test fire, things went fine, primers were a little flat do to high presure , i think its becuse i used full strenth surplus ammo the stuff i have is not the best. ill be going back on a day that i can group it. i have also pulled down some of the surplus ammo and resized the brass. it seems to have a lot of eregular necks maybe this will cut down on the presure. on this trip to the range ill bring some s&b hunting ammo also.       150.00 buff classic on the way

When you rechamber somthing like this with a x39 case head to a x54 case head how do you go about dealing with the extraction/ ejection?

Case heads are the same.

7.62x39 is 7.62mm bullet X 39mm case.
7.62x54R is 7.62mm bullet X 54mm case and the R = Rimmed.

This is my understanding of them I might be all wet.

all done it shoots real good with reloads and so so with mil sup ammo on a cold day in #$77 i mean new york i got 3" groups at 100 yds with my 148 gr hand loads i tried to shoot between the shivers. my gunsmith is making another one and putting it on e-bay soon depending on the mil-sup it dosint always chamber, i found out that it was from the bullets being installed in the case crooked so i dont shoot those till i straightened them out otherwise it shoots good with all ammo tested s&b, albainan, rp, yellow tip the pressure signs were not real it was from some bad ammo from china???? the 150 doller bc is hear that will be another post

Well lets do the math .

New barrel $82 or more

Shipping $10

Fitting $15

reamer $25 or up

Thats $132 or more and if you have to sent it to a smith add another 50 at least , so even $130 it would not be to bad .

I have been watching that barrel on ebay. I don't reload so I don't know if it will do me any good. But it is something that I don't have. Is there any place that you can get 7.62X54 hunting ammo?
