What type of finish is on model 70 featherweight stock?

Its a newer model 70 and I would like to know what the finish on the wood is, so I can redo some deep scatches. Is it oil or some other type this gun was made late 1990's. Thx

I don't know what the Winchester factory uses, but for refinishing work, I've had good luck with Birchwood Casey's Tru-Oil.  Some others like tung oil finish, too.  Look into Brownell's they have a great selection of wood finishing products that should fit the bill. Hope that this helps
