I have been a Willy fan since before "Crazy". I do not agree with all but Willy does not care what anybody thinks, never has, never will. As far as paying taxes, it was his manager that got him into trouble with the IRS, though Willy said i was pretty stupid to let him. Willy paid back all the money including interest and penality. I do not recall any others doing this.
Willy has stood for some good things, his country, our military and well, for decent, cheap grass.

Now there's an understatement if ever there was one.

As with many 'artist' I enjoy some of his work but don't agree with most of his political or personal views. Hmmm... come to think of it most of the folks I know fall into that area.

I have watched some of these new bands on late night tv like the Tonite show with Leno/ Conan O'brien/ and Carson what ever his name is. LOL now I am not a late tv junkie but used to have the tube on for background noise while I read late at night. Got some complaints so now the TV goes off after the news. Anyway a very few of them actually can play decent and are decent musicians. The rest are not worth sour owl crap. Now Mitchell before you get reved and say this old fart does not know what he is talking about I started playing lead guitar and vocals in Rock bands in bars in 1968. Just semi retired last year. Oh I still play now and then filling in with a few bands I know just to keep a hand in it. So I do know a bit watching these folks wether they are worth a damn or not. hammering on a guitar playing some cheater chords and no leads at all let alone good ones plus some dufus screaming out words that do not even come close to matching the key the band is trying to play in is not my idea of a good band or musicians. How they get on some of these shows is beyond me. Fortunately there are some good ones too that balance it out.

Oh I do not know Iron Glow back a few years ago I would not have minded at all getting "wrapped up" with Dolly Parton.

Come to think about it I still would not mind, for her age she is a fine looking lady! Of course she is married so that shoots that fantasy.

JH45, although we are getting off topic (sorry), i agree that crap that you speak of isn't music, of the bands that i talked about they have talent, they know how to write lyrics and they know how to play. and i have a feeling our scales are just about the same , i was on a sound crew for about three years at a local place, and my dad is the biggest guitar nut in the world.

I agree with Nightrain 52, I think he just done it to make a buck. I don`t like Willie`s music either, can`t stand that whinney voice, its like dragging finger nails across a chalk board.

But on the other hand, he did do alot for farm aid. My hat is off to him for that.
I dont see how the movie (broken back mountain) got so many awards, it wasn`t released down here in Okla, till after all the supposdly awards came out. So I think there are certain movies, Hollywood, trys to manipulate, to their own ending, and this was one of them.
