For the second time, I have commissioned the manufacture of left-hand Ferguson flintlock rifles -- my first pair having been destroyed in my gun maker's shop fire.
I am having serious problems with my current gun maker. We are now into my third year of having zero metal cut. I am strongly considering pulling the plug on the project in favor of one that will actually be completed.

I am told that Classic Rifle Company in Bend, Oregon, manufactures left-hand Sharps M1874 actions. Does anyone have first-hand experience with this company?
About four years ago, I corresponded with a John Mitchell of Classic Rifle Co. to make a Sharps M1859/63 percussion cap lock action. But the lure of having Fergusons was too great.

If anyone has suggestions to solve my dilemma, please let me know. I have no interest in metallic cartridge rifles. Fergusons are my first choice, but I suspect Sharps actions are easier to machine. Fergusons have a 10/12-start, one pitch thread that is .875-inch ID and about one inch long. Apparently, making 250 of these is no problem. But making two or three -- a bear.
