Yah, it's a good site.  Just don't let anyone know you hunt yotes with anything other than the .17 rem.  :)

yeah,I kinda gathered that,too...................I'm just hunting them for sport AND to get them off the deer and turkey population...I'm not interested in hides unless I get an unusual one or something.............so far I haven't exactly made them EXTINCT, :-D  :-D  :-D  :D

I do believe that the Biologist would back you on that statement. Some say that nothing short of an atomic blast would do the trick.

Bda375, you are talking about a 17 Remington, not a 17HMR on the prariedogs. A 25gr bullet traveling at or close to 4000fps should have blowen the critter apart. The 17 Remington has a very loyal following among the people that own them, because they kill all out of proportion for their size.

coyote gods, LOL  After reading  for a while, it's hard to believe that there are any coyotes left, what with so many of them guys having killed 1000-1500 of them.

Yup, those boys take coyote hunting pretty serious.  Tons of good info, ya just gotta sort through it.

Qaz, thanks for pointing out the distinction between the rem and hmr - night and day.

I happen to know the Coyote Gods JH and Vic, both great guys. Vic I see maybe once a year,  he is 100% pure predator caller from the old school.

mag shooter, I don't know how many coyotes Vic has killed, but it's many. I know how many John says he's killed and maybe he has.

I personally know a guy that's killed over 2500 coyotes since the 60s and it's on record that he did so. I've also killed them in big numbers myself but have no proff, I've been doing it for more then 40 years.

The west does have some real serious predator hunters in it, that for sure. After all, it all started in Texas with names like A.L Lindsey, Bowen Weems, the Burnams etc.

Back at the coyote gods web site. it's good site though I don't shoot the .17 and I don't go there anymore. The site has alot of info for the begenner and the pro. Check it out.
