This year winter project,I always wanted to restock my vintage t/c from the 70's flinter.I did some reading that the PA hunter and white mountain stock will except the 15/16 octagone barrel.I purchase a used PA hunter stock from a bord member and did the swap on the hardware.I think the m/l looks a little more traditional then the stock with all the brass on it .I did re-inlet the lock added some glass to the lock to make it sit square in the stock and a little deeper against the vent liner.I also found a little to much wood is removed from the factory inletting and re-glassed the tang .I also was going to add some glass to the barrel channel but decided to to free float the barrel and shoot the gun first.I also added a steel butt plate off a renegade and used LMF to brown the butt plate came out super.I find the drop on the comb a little easier to pick up the iron sights,seem the thinner stock has a sleeker look to it and a little less weight.

What powder you shooting?

I use 100 grains of goex 3f a wad under the patech RB

well done  what  choice did you make for finishing  the stock ?

I find t/c stocks have some nice grain under the factory finish and need no stain.I always used true oil but I have found tung oil to be my first choice.I still use true oil in the barrel channel and other parts to seal outy moisture.
I like FORMBY'S TUNG OIL and use in about 15 coats on the stock ,I wet sand in about the 5 coat with 600 wet @ dry sand paper (use water) then work my way up to were to pours are filled with tung oil.
I seen some solvents like BUTCH BORE CLEANER should not be used when tung oil is used ,it will streak the finish
