Good day at the range
« on: March 26, 2003, 11:06:35 AM »
I made it to the range today and I took my Remington 541 to sight in the new Weaver 2X7 rimfire scope that I bought awhile back. This was the bright spot of the trip. I shot a few rounds at 25yds to get it close then I moved the target to 50yds. The first group was with CCI Greentag. The gun always did like those. The 5 shot group measured .478 center to center with four of the shots going into .278.  :-D I also tried Remington-Eley Club extra but it did not fair quite as well. One group had four shots in .399 but the fifth opened it to .955. The other group was better at .618 for five shots. The one group I shot with Aguila SSS 60gr loads went into .797. All in all not a bad day for someone who has not shot much in a long while. I do love that 541!!!

Good shooting!! I love a gun that shoots like that with out having to do anything like the ruger 10/22 Conversions. Do not get me wrong as I had a 10/22 T and I liked it but I feel all the rugers should shoot like that, without having to accuratize them. My Romainian 69 shoots just as good or better probably better than the 10/22 T I had and it cost a heck of a lot less. Sounds like you have a keeper in that Remington. Oh and nice that it likes the 60 grainers also mine does 2 Jim
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.
