Ok, I thought I understood the reason for the "Ruger and Contender Only" loads. I may indeed have it wrong.
Why do the manuals list loads marked for those two weapons and not say ok for use in Smiths and others? Why are there disclaimers on the lightweight 38s that prolonged use of +p ammo may damage the gun?
I thought I understood - maybe I don't.

Hodgdon, Lyman, Speer, Sierra, Hornady = reliable resources
so and so's pages on the internet = not reliable resources
Alway check loads you find on the internet against manuals.
NEVER exceed maximum listed loads.
