Eaves droppingÂ’s Big Payoff

Our sources tell us that President Bush, in anticipation of leaving the White House at the end of his second term, has entered into talks with Verizon, to appear in a series of advertisements for the cellular phone giant.

An official at Verizon, who insisted remaining anonymous and spoke on conditions of confidentiality confirmed that the company had indeed been in, talks with the Presidents staff, and that Bush was interested in the offer.

“We envision the, then to be, former President Bush being the focal point of our new add campaign” reporters were told, he added “our long running theme, Can you hear me now? will have just about run it’s course by 2008, and with the competition in the wireless market we have to maintain our edginess to maintain market share and expand.”

While we could get no confirmation, regarding BushÂ’s future participation, from ad agency insiders, our agency sources did reveal that they were working on a new Verizon campaign to be rolled out in 2008 or 9.  The campaign will be built around the theme,

 Â“I can hear you now?”.

Ad analyst Bob Sellers, of Dewey, Cheatum, and Howe, upon being asked about the possible effectiveness of the proposed new campaign said,  Â“Considering the success Viagra and Pepsi enjoyed after Bob Dole appeared in their ads, and with and the huge response Former Presidents Bush and Clinton received with the Tsunami appeal, Dubba should be a hit.  After all whatÂ’s he going to do after being president, itÂ’s not like he can write a book or something.  The only thing I can think of that could have come close to a deal like this, would have been Nixon doing, Is it live or is it Memorex?  The only downside I can see is he might have trouble saying his lines right.  This could be huge, who knows more about listening on the phone then Bush.”

A special note to those that think it is all right to disregard the constitution because it is to dangerous to observe them:

This is a parody, which means it is a joke, unlike surrendering your rights.

Forfeit any one right under the Bill of Rights and you will forfeit them all.

HEHE!
You know I would have no problem with eavesdropping, IF IF IF, the person/persons doing so were of the caliber of folks that would make intelligent calls and ALL were done properly.
That said I do not think this would ever work. Eventually we would get someone like J. Edgar.
I hope we leave this alone.
Blessings

Yes, eavesdropping has paid off big time for our people...it intercepted the folks that were scheduled to blow up the Brooklyn bridge, caught the "Lackawana seven" and who knows how many other "close calls"...the Homeland Defense doesn't brag about successes !

In any case the current hostile attitudes afoot in this nation are not helped by promoting fictional accounts !

...But, that is a liberal hallmark...if you don't have any facts to smear someone with...

         ...just make up a story...

The tactic of telling a lie, or half truth, getting the compliant, liberal media to repeat it, over and over and over and then using that as a factoid to back up their ridiculous assertions, has become the modus operandi of the Dumbycrat Party.  What is mind boggling is that the very politicians who first promulgate the untruth, actually seem to buy into their own bull****.

Does it really make sense to believe that, the government has stopped all the “Ossamas” since 9/11, when it cannot stop the “JoseÂ’s”?  And, does it really make sense to believe that, the government has stopped all the C-4 since 9/11, when we cannot stop the cocaine?

I fail to see how the conceding of rights, enumerated in the Constitution, or circumvention of laws would have the effect of stopping a person, from illegally crossing our borders wearing a back-pack filled with explosives and nails and walking into a Wally World somewhere, on their way to a date with the virgins.

In terms of probability, one has a greater chance of suffering an intentional violent injury or death at the hands of a relative, or spouse, or to be politically correct, domestic partner, than at the hands of a terrorist.

Funny thing about precedents, once established they are difficult to reverse.  While the intentions behind domestic eaves dropping maybe well intentioned, future administrations, may not be as “benevolent” or as “altruistic” in itsÂ’ use, as this one claims to be.

Last I heard, the US has been sampling overseas calls since the technology made voice recognition of Key words possible.
This isn't new stuff.
I know a couple of guys that think it's funny to mention their "new clear windows" when calling internationally.

Realistically I do not believe that eavesdropping by any can be deterred. The best that can be expected is openness by the government.
There is another thought, who would actually believe we have the only means of monitoring?
This information is available to any who would pay for it.
Maybe there are a number of big brothers [cousins??] listening.
And conspiracy fears live on!!

Some seem to think this so-called "eavesdropping"...is through phone taps...that is not the charge  at all..

The charge is that the NSA has been monitoring E-mail traffic between Al Queda operatives overseas and their counterparts here in the US..

The Libs are actually saying that they don't want the agencies charged with protecting us...to listen to plans being hatched by Al Queda operatives among us..

That's a  great example of "Liberal logic "....LOL

Listen to me. The biggest plan I have is for a squirrel hunt in sept. I don't new clear or plastic windows either.

The way the gubmint has treated it's citizens in the past is how they will continue to until  "we the people" put a stop to it.  I think I will go hunting and let the conspirotors/ees pretend they make a lick of diference.

There is a very simple solution. Dont use cell phones. Any type of wireless phone can be picked up. Your cordless phone can be picked up by people who have police scanners, your hand held walkie talkies can be picked up, so what is so different about a cell phone? I'm NEVER willing to talk on a cordless phone of anytype about something that I'm not willing to have someone else hear. Eavesdropping is nothing new folks, this administration did not invent it. And anything going out over the air waves is fair game, always has been and always will be.

Good advise Big. Whenever I place any kind of credit card order via the telephone or discuss any kind of financial information, etc I always use a hard wired phone.  When I lived in Jersey my neighbors teeny bopper daughter used to sit out on her front portch and chat with her freinds on the phone.  She would have been embarassed as #&!! if she knew her cordless phone and mine were on the same frequency.  :)
