I've made brass for my 7mm-08 from LC .308 brass I had .. seems the breech won't close completly.. should I get 7mm-08 specific brass for my handi? I would appriciate any info you all might have- Thanks in advance , Kevin

Does regular 7-08 brass chamber ok?..If so..then by all means yes..and then try to figure out what is going wrong in your resizing process..Mil-Spec 308 brass will have less case capacity than regular 308 brass from all I've seen of it..and you can save some steps on your reloading as well..

You may want to double check your OL on the formed cases , they may have streched some in the forming process . Also check your bullet setting depth .

Thanks guys, I think I found the problem I need a few more turns in the sizing die :oops: with a case inserted theres a bit more clearance ...I resized my cases and it seems to have done the trick...Thanks for the fast replies..-Kevin

Glad to here you've found the problem.

Just wanted to add that I use LC 308 brass exclusively in my 7-08 and never a problem. Best brass out there in my opinion and I like the LC Match stuff even better. Just remember to be very careful of pressure signs sooner than with commercial brass. Max loads should be approached with caution.

You must pay attention to collet diameter with bullet seated.
Collet of formed 308 brass are often too thick and need neck turning to stay into safe size. As-is, 308 formed could generate over pressure and enventually not chamber in tight chamber.

Case capacity is different between regular 7-08 and formed 308, generally lesser with 308. Begin to build your reload with low starting load and increase safely.
