1934 Remington Pump .22
« on: May 02, 2007, 05:56:22 PM »
My Uncle some 55 years ago, used to keep a .22 pump action rifle just inside the back door of his house.   It fascinated me every time I saw it, and comes to my memory even today.    Talked to my cousin recently, who is 12 yrs. my senior, and I asked him about it.
He said the gun was a Remington his dad had bought in 1934 for $10.   That's all he could remember about it.
My question is ....... Does anyone have an  idea of what model that could have been?

Checking an older version of the Blue Book and the current Gun Trader there is only one .22 caliber pump rifle listed that was being manufactured during 1934:

Mod 12 manufactured from 1909-36

As Listed in Gun Trader:

"Model 12A, 12B, 12C, 12CS SLIDE-ACTION REPEATERS
Standard Grade. Hammerless.  Takedown. Caliber: .22 Short, Long
or LR.  Tubular magazine holds 15 short, 12 long or 10 LR car-
ridges.  22- or 24-inch round or octagon bbl.  Open rear sight,
bead front.  Plain, half-pistol-grip stock and grooved slide handle of
walnut.  Made from 1909-36."

Values range from $226 to $664.

There is a Mod 121 listed. However, the manufacture dates begin in 1936.
