71-72 Uberti conversions
« on: February 27, 2006, 04:53:56 AM »
OK, for years I've been looking at these conversion open tops. Always "almost" getting one.
Now, looks like they are coming out in 45 Colt caliber, according to the new catalog from Taylor & CO....So I'm really going to get one I think now.

I have had other Uberti revolvers years ago, had some springs break of course, but on some it didn't take much use to get a broken spring.

How are these open tops the last couple of years? I'm going to plink occassionally with it, not a whole lot of shooting, mostly sitting around handling it a lot...but do I need to send it right out somewhere right away to get some good springs in it, or just wait for one to break while thumbing the hammer back at home, cuss a bit, then do it?

Any comments on these Open Top Colt types would be appreciated, I've been wanting one for a real long time, get my eye on the Army grip "late Model" with 8 inch barrel in 45 Colt caliber.

I just have to get one of these....if for anything, to play with while watching a Western, but will plink with it to sometimes.
