Need info on this rifle
« on: February 27, 2006, 05:36:09 PM »
I inhereted an old 22 bolt action rifle marked as "Ranger Model 35" for 22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle.  There is circled number 26 where the barrel meets the receiver.  That is the only markings I can see on the rifle.

Need help on finding out who is/was the manfacturer.

Thanks in advance.

Did a Google search.  Apparently made by various manufacturers, sold by Sears.  See http://www.faqfarm.com/Q/What_is_manufacturer-model_of_rifle_marked_only_with_ranger_22-long_rifle for a little more info.

Made by Stevens.  Same as a Stevens 66A.  As PeterF said it was sold by Sears.  Hope this helps.

Thank you both...That's what I needed...

Looking at the model number however, it says Model 35 and not 35A.  Bluebook cross references 35A to Stevens 66A.  But have not found anything on 35.
