Contender peep sight
« on: February 26, 2006, 12:21:22 PM »
This question is for you folks that use a peep-sighted Contender. I have a 10" 44 Mag Contender and I've just ordered a Williams WGRS and a .150 Twilight aperture for it. I will probably sight in with the stock aperture and hunt with the twilight aperture.

Do you find that the stock front blade works fine? I'm going to put a little white paint or nail polish on it and see how that works. I wish that someone made a front ramp with a standard 3/8" dovetail that fits the stock screw spacing, but I haven't been able to find one yet. I'd like to hear if anyone has any front sight mods they can share. Thanks.

Some guys use the TC fiber optic front with their peeps. I don't know if you can buy just the front sight however. I shoot IHMSA with a Williams Foolproof peep rear and a Steve Martens (www.daisysights.com) hooded front peep setup with the clear aperature. This setup is excellent in good light conditions. Some of the older TC Super 14 barrels came with a dovetailed front sight, but the screw spacing is different than the current production barrels.
