I have had this little rifle for a couple years now and the more I shoot it the more I love the little guy. Took her to camp with 550 rounds of ammo. what a blast. tin cans tremble in fear when she comes out to play.
A great gun at a great price.. now of course I need a yellow Boy.

Yep I agree I have a 22 mag version and I love it. I get a kick out of the naysayers that condemn this gun as crap because they have a Win or Marlin and because this has  alloy sides on it they condemn it as a cheap gun or they may have a 10/22 that has a alloy reciever but you never hear them complain about that. Your post just reafirms my belief that these guns will last with lots of ammo shot through them and just keep going. I would imagine that you have shot a lot through your gun and it still works great with out a hitch. Thanks for the postive report. I think guys shoot their 22's more now than ever. So what is the difference of having a 30 year old gun that has shot tens of thousands of rounds through it or a gun 3 or 4 years old that has shot the same amount? The old gun has not had the abuse of many rounds shot through it in a short  time so folks say it has stood the test of time yet the newer gun still functions well and has shot as much ammo a shorter period. I do not care what anyone says these guns will last as I know guys who have the Ithical and Erma models of same gun built back in the middle 70's and they are still going strong so that shoots the they will not last 30 years theory all to heck.  :)

i also agree, i have two henry's the survival which goes to hunting camp to keep the critters at bay, i get 1" groups at 50 yards. also my youngest son love's it. my other is also the lever mag and really puts the hurt on groundhogs and foxes, for the price and reliability and if needed coustomer service you get a great value.

I have the new H001T,the 20" octagon barreled one.I love it.I wouldn't sell it for anything.The action is unbelieveably smooth.The trigger is the lightest and smoothest of ANY gun I've ever shot,no matter the make or price.I put on a green fibre optic sight on the front and a williams fp-gr peep sight on the rear and it is one squirell and rabbit slayer. :grin:  sj

I have a Henry Golden Boy and am very pleased with the gun. What impressed me with Henry the most  is the fact that you can talk to the president of the company if you have a problem and that they will do what ever it take to make you happy. That says alot in my book...Jim

Got mine off of layaway yesterday and took it to the range this afternoon.  EXACTLY what sj said, but I will also add that she may be the most accurate rifle I own.

Love my H001.
Even though some would think it an abomination,
I am putting a scope on this little lever action.  

Are there any suggestions on good mounts.
Scope is 1" tube (Millet "Buck Silver Compact" 4X).
I know it's not a Zeiss or Leupold or even a Nikon,
but give a guy a break.  I'm on a meager budget.

Again, GREAT shooting little rifle that my eyes can't do
justice with iron sights.
