Has any one here ever rechambered their 223 to 7mm tcu, would you just need the barrel bored to 284 or would you need the shoulder area changed in the chamber also.Other than being different is there any advantage to this rechamber? They seem to be popular in the 10 and14 " contenders ,how about the 22" handiWould this be a decent youth whitetail round, say 139 grain .
slide it where it fits jam it where it doesnt     [/quote]

I'd just get a 7-08 and shoot light loads myself..it would be a whole lot cheaper...if you want to step up the loads go with full house loads..or....you can get a 26" 280 and have another great cartridge....with factory loads available as well if you don't want to reload..no fireforming needed..no additional cost invovled except getting the barrel..I think Jason280 the T/C forum moderator has this round in a Encore..you can always PM him and ask him about it..

I have been thinking about doing the same thing, but in the 6.5 T/CU. Why 6.5 you ask? Well besides I am a nut case (Just ask my ex-wife) I think it would be a nice varmit round and light game round out of a Handi.
