In my search to get a good "large deer" rifle out to but usually not beyond 300yds., and maybe a bit more. I have come across the .280. I was looking at it with a 140gr bullet thinking it would be just a little short of a 7mm Mag and a lot less recoil. So far I like the Weatherby .257 Mag., 25-06, and the 270 WSM. There are things I don't like about all of the aforementioned so I am considering the .280. Any thoughts from those who have hunted with them. I will reload for what ever gun I get so ammo availability is a minor issue. Thanks Buckfever
