Does such gun exist in today's market ?  Im thinking of getting a leaver gun and wanted something with more punch than a 30-30.  So next thing that came to mind is the .303

The old Winchester Model 95 was a lever chambered for the 303 British. Of course you are going to pay dearly for one. Savage Model 99s were chambered for the 300 Savage, which, ballistically at least, is a step up from the 30-30. Then you have all your levers in 308 Winchester: Savage 99s, Wincheser 88s, and my favorite, Browning BLR. And the BLRs are now available in a long action 30-06. There are probably others also.

i've seen the Winchester 1895 in .303 sell from anywhere between $400 to $900, but thats the Canadian market, i know they go for a lot more in the US of A

Kevin has the Canadian price right.  I've noticed that the same gun in 30/40 Krag starts at about $1,000 up here, but I hear the same gun goes for half that price (or less) in the US.

If someone were enterprising, they might buy a '95 in .303 up here, and swap it into the States for one in 30/40 from down there.

i'll take one of each

i also see a lot of .303 '95's that have Lee Enfield tubes. makes me wonder if these didn't start out as .30-40 Krag models and then where converted to meet us crazy canucks demand for our beloved .303....

kevin303 - you could be right about the conversion from 30/40 to 303.  The 30/40 is a longer case and you wouldn't have the cycling problems you would experience trying to convert a shorter cartridge to a longer one.  And they are both rimmed cases, so it might just require a barrel change.  Mikey.

Whats wrong with a 35 rem? You should also look at the new Hornady ammo for tube mags!

PA-Joe:
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the 35 Remington. It's just not a 303 Brit.
