A .35 Whelen comeback?

Do you guys think the .35 Whelen may be here to stay?  We all know that NEF is coming out with the Whelen, but did you know that Remington has TWO cataloged for this year?!  They have a 700CDL and the brand new 750 Woodsmaster semi-auto in .35 Whelen.  Couple this with Grice's special run of .35 Whelen Rem 7600's last year(along the 700CDL) and it looks like the ol' wildcat is getting more popular.
  On a side note, if any of you spot any "special edition" NEF Whelens out there, let me know!

Thats a good question, weither or not the Whelen will be a standard caliber offered for a Handi from now on. I personally hope so. Wish it was a longer barrel, BUT as a standard caliber option I believe it's a very good choice.

I got a RMEF 35 whelen at an auction about a month or so ago for 200 bucks what a steal. I got the scope for it yesterday and I hope I can get out to shoot sometime next week. I just hate having a new gun for that long and not getting to shoot.

I sure hope that this resurgence of this round is here to stay, because col. townsend's cartridge is a hell of a fine one!

The .35 Whelen will be available this summer, both as a rifle and an accessory barrel.

22" as far as we know, they've never indicated that anything else will be offered, even after our cry..er...requests!!

Nope, the blanks come in longer lengths and they cut em to 22", they could cut em to any length they want, no reason they can't cut more calibers to 26" or longer!!

I absolutely love my Whelen in a Bolt rifle, I have an Ackley Improved.  I am sure I will have to get one when they come out, but in the meantime, I will be checking for who can ream it to a 40 degree Ackley Improved.

Tim I remember that, thanks for reminding me. Great caliber, I am not so crazy about that barrel lenght though. I suppose its still worth getting, I don't have that caliber.  Been thinking about the .280 to.
