Looking at load data it out preform's the 450 marlin. which was supposed to out preform the 45-70 but of course that is loads for a trap door.

Teddy Roosesvelt thought so! I'm reading one of his books tonight, and on the cover is T.R. standing with a 1895 Winchester (in 405), with one foot atop a black rhino. It wouldn't likely be my first choice, but it has been done!
