Blobsquatch Definition

In other arenas, I have been taught, and I have learned, that definition of terms/words is very important.  So, I have a question:  What is a "blobsquatch?" By what criteria is one picture labeled a "blobsquatch" and another accepted as something else--something better?  (If you make a post on this question, PLEASE DO NOT REFERENCE ANY PARTICULAR PICTURE.  Graybeard will not accept that! To me, this is a serious question from a novice and is no attempt to start, or re-start, any particular discussion.)

I feel that it would be helpful to investogators, and their readers, to have a widely accepted set of criteria by which a photograph could be labeled something better than a "blobsquatch."  I would suggest, for No. 1, that the photo have a clearly discernable image of SOMETHING, not just light and shadow, to avoid the label "blobsquatch."  I do not mean the image must be immediately identifiable.  And "clearly discernable" probably would itself require some definition.

What are your thoughts?

A blobsquatch is any picture or film that does not show the subject clear. In other words about 99.9% of the Bigfoot pictures online are blobs or out right fakes.
Personally I have no problem what so ever of telling people what something is. The only picture/film online that I would say has a chance of being real is the Patterson film.
Let me get this straight, I believe Bigfoot is a real animal and is out in the woods some place. However I do not in any way believe 3/4 of the stuff people say about them if not even more.
I also feel that a lot of the lets call them Bigfoot people do more harm to the cause then help. They post faked pictures on their web sites and say they could be real. They post faked sightings and say they could be real. They say the dumbest things you ever heard and the sad part is I think they believe it.

If people would just tell the truth and only the truth about things we all would be much better off. By supporting anything that most people can tell is a obvious fake be it a picture or sighting or what ever, They are just making the whole Bigfoot community look like fools in most peoples eyes.
Bigfoot chances are would have a much easier time being looked at as real or maybe real if it was not for them fools making it look stupid.

I just hope that some day they wake up and realize they are causing more harm then good for Bigfoot.
Oh yea and it does not matter what distance that picture was taken from. It it is not clear that it is not someone in a suite or what ever it is a blob. I do not care how much it might look like a Bigfoot from long distance they should have used a zoom :-)

I agree with your comments regarding folks and sites reporting on bigfoot and sightings of him. At this point I am still some what skeptical such a creature even exists. I'm willing to believe they do but I need something real and tangible to convince me.

I read and hear a lot of stories from folks, many of which sound believable enough and the folks seem honest enough and sincere in their belief in what they are saying. The trouble is so many folks are hoaxing and out right faking stories, photos and other evidence it's just too hard to know who and what you can believe and what is 100% pure BS. So I listen and I read and I try to sort it all out but the bogus is just so over whelming that for now I will just sit on the fence and remain skeptical.

I wanna move off the fence onto the side of folks who say such a creature exists but dang it just too many stories don't add up to me about why a decent film or photo didn't happen. Some of the most secretive creatures on earth are filmed regularly by folks who wish to study them and entire feature length movies are made of their lives. If these creatures honestly exist I just don't understand why the same can't be done by a real good wildlife photograhper. Dunno.

But in my opinion anyone who comes up with a photo or film which the majority of the world can see nothing in and who claims it's the greatest proof of existence of them ever is only gonna end up getting laughed off all responsible sites on the internet.

I hope this forum can rise to a higher level than that. We're not a bigfoot organization but just a group of folks with at least some interest in the subject and no money motive behind it.

Well take the giant squid for example. Not to many years ago they was listed as a crypto animal and now days they are listed as a real animal. And just how many live ones have been seen ? 1 that I know of and the pictures of it are not that good. I would be willing to bet that 10x as many of them are out there then Bigfoot if not more of a difference. Yet they are never seen by humans even when they spend years and years looking for them.

The main difference between Bigfoot and the giant squid is that they are in the water and float up when they die. I could write a couple of pages on why people think Bigfoot bodies are not found but lets just say if they lived in the water we would not be talking about this chances are :-) Think about animals like a bear or wolf or any other larger animal in the wild, Just how many times have you came across one of them dead that was not killed by a human ? You would be lucky to even find some bones let alone the mean. Myself I can never remember finding any larger animal dead in the woods. It does not seem strange at all to me that a Bigfoot body would never be found.
