Coon Trappers ?
« on: March 30, 2003, 11:23:22 AM »
I'm curious how many of you coon trappers don't use drowning slide wires. For those of you that do is it really necessary. I'm just trying to figure out if the $100 it's gonna cost is really worth it. I use slide wires now
but was just wondering what your guy's opinion on this subject is. Thanks Richard[/b]

Depends on your check laws. Wires up your catch percentages in poorly held coon also.

I use slidewires when water trapping coon.I want them down and out,and waiting for me the next day.In my opinion good equipment such as slidewires---does'nt cost------It Pays. And as Rd Fx stated it puts those poorly caught or toe caught coon,in your fur shed.   Tom

I dont use them . I like to let small unharmed animals go . I very rarely get pull outs . I also wire to drags like lods and do not stake solid .
If an animal activist is being mauled by a bear should we stop it , or , " let nature take its course?"
