Use the search function, lots of threads on .223 loads, many mentions by those that have tried to duplicate the WWB loads, not many succeed, tho. The bullets aren't available, for one thing. Here are couple good ones...

WWB Duplication

I think the closest you will get to the WWB 45 gr is 40 gr Vmax with a fairly stiff load of H335 with Winchester primers and brass. I tried Benchmark and W748 and couldn't get the velocity. Also note that cleaning the primer pockets to full depth may cause less than ideal ignition as the primers get set below the base of the case whereas the WWB primers are flush. In a Handi I think the latter is important.

Please post any results as allot of folks will be interested.

I don't know how the WWB shoots, but I hand roll my 223 and shoot the 55gr. pills.

Accuracy is what I call good; 3/4" is commons when I really buck down on the bench I can get sub 1/2" all at 100yards.

Personally I didn’t buy the 223 to shoot the same grain bullet as my 204Ruger.

since you (supposedly?) can't buy the same bullets as used i the white box i suggest you substitue either Hornady or Sierra bullets of the same weight and design (tipped / softpoint / etc...) and see how well they shoot.

accuracy is what ultimately counts with a bullet of proper construction for reliable 'terminal ballistics'.     both Hornady and Sierra have done their homework with .22 caliber bullets from everything i can see.

one thing, however:  the Hornady bullets are better in their spire point variation (out of .22 caliber centerfires) for harvesting deer than anything i've ever read about the Sierra's.    the 55 and 60 gr' spire points are deer killers beyond what you'd ever expect.   i've known a landowner use them to great effect while nuisance hunting.......
