So here's my dilemma.
I'm getting a 45-70 barrel for my Survivor. I am looking to make this a good elk/ moose/bear gun to take on a Canadian hunting trip as either a back-up for my 7mm mag, or as my primary (if my father wants to borrow my mag).
My main question is which barrel do I get?
The 22 would be nice for humping around with, but the BC should be more accurate and have more velocity (longer range).
Does anyone know the weight difference of the barrels only?
What about recoil? Is one better than the other?
I plan on mounting a 2-7x40 scope on it, so I need to keep that in mind.
Which scope rail should I get the Ultra or the standard? What is the difference?
Will I need to drill and tap either or both of these barrels?
How do you fill the front dovetail on the BC?
Sorry for so many questions in one post, but I know you guys can handle them pretty easily.
Thanks,
