hey  guys hadto move in to a smaller place  ,lost alot  of garden so this spring i see containers growin so i have cut  55gal  blur barrels into  planters,  they are 16 in deep ams  22 in across  what would yu guys suggestto use asa  planting media ,  any seceret mixtures out there??? i got all ohio cold winterto plan them , will be growin tomatos and peppers

A 50/50 mix of soil and Dead Leaves or other Organic Mulch with 1/2 pound of 10-10-10 mixed in will give more tomato's than you know what to do with.

Have a Tall Stake in the middle before you start, then have a Step Ladder handy when the Tomato's get ripe near the top.

I do Grape Tomato's this way.  I plant 3 to a Container spaced equally about 6 inches out from the Stake, and they get about 10 feet tall.  I think I got over 30 pints of Grape Tomato's out of each growing container.

At the end of the growing year, there is nothing below ground but one huge rooty mess.  I start fresh every year.
