I am interested in reading some good books dealing with big bore firearms, both reference books and hunting books, particularly safari books.  I would appreciate any recommendations you might have.

Peter Capstick wrote some good ones.

"Death in the Tall Grass", I believe was one.

African safari -cling-to-your-reading chair stuff.

If you just want to read just about big bores cartridges, there is only one book.

African Rifles and Cartridges by John Taylor

John Traveler is right about the Capstick's  books.  Another good read is Robert Ruarks books.

There are two good sources for these type of books

Keith,

On top of the ones already mentioned one of my favorites is the books by J.A. Hunter(Hunter, White Hunter just to name two) will have you dreaming about charging elephant's and buffalo's.  I've read them many, many times and still enjoy re-reading them.  Lawdog

Look for Peter Hathaway Capstick. Really. I never bought one of his books, but I have borrowed nearly the whole library at one time or another. Don't bother renting his videos, they suck. He's a great writer, you'll like his stuff.
