Did you ever buy a gun you sold before ?

I saw a rifle that I had owned about 2 years ago, and traded on another gun. I'm thinking about buying it back, but I feel stupid for selling it in the first place.

Has anybody else ever done this ?

Yep,it has happened to me sevral times and to remedy it I just quit selling or trading any off.Just accumulate more of them.

Nope If I sell a gun its for two reasons Either I feel I do not need it or it does not shoot to my expectations. That is why the Turk mauser and the two Mosins went out the door this fall they did not live up to expectations. now on the other hand the K31 and the Swede Mauser I have kept do.

Yes!    
Five years ago, I traded a Marlin 1894C .357 Mag on a Rem M-7 and was allowed $350 on the trade, so it was gone!

Two years ago, I bought that same Marlin for $150 from a neighbor down the road from me!

Made out pretty good on both deals!

Yep, have done so a couple of times.  Whenever "I got the fever" I'll trade away things I wish I hadn't  :roll: .  Sometimes buddies of mine know this and will trade me back stuff that I have traded to them for stuff of theirs.  It's all very complicated and a little sordid.

Actually there are only about 10 guns in town and we all take turns owning them.

If you are asking the question? buy it back asap.. I have sold a few i wish I had not to pay a bill or two. Now I wish I had kept track better so I could find them all. Even if it is not the best gun on earth.. well you still may want it back. there are some I don't want back. A auto ordance 45 comes to mind. I am presently working on getting back my first deer rifle. a old marlin 30-30 I sold for a bigger beter caliber..you know. memory lane..sold it for a hundred bucks,, when 100 busk was worth something.

Did it once.  Tried to do it a second time.

I traded a beautiful older Marlin Mod 25 .22lr that had a walnut stock for a .44 Mag Handi rifle.  Then I realized I made a big mistake and went to buy it back.  The store owner decided he liked it and kept it for himself.  He wouldn't part from it.

On another occasion, I sold a 7mm-08 Handi rifle to a local shop and later went and bought back.  Fortunatly, the shop owner sold it back for the price he gave me for it.

I do you one better than buying a rifle you sold back. I had a lot of guns stolen from me back in 1976. Last year the son of the man who lived behind me gave one of them back to me. It was an italian carcano 6.5. His father had since died and the son could not find a clip or ammo for it. My daughter and her husband lived in the house we lived in when the guns were stolen and the son lived in his dads house. We went shooting one afternoon and when we came back the son went home and came back with the carcano and gave me my own stolen gun!

My foolish mistake was a S&W model 15 Combat Masterpiece...
In mint condition.......Nice Steve Herrit teak grips........polished action....
I am once again feeling the urge to puke.....Thanks for dredging
up such a terrible experience for me to re-live.....

Oh yes, I have bought back guns that I have sold.  One was a beautiful unfired 6" S&W model 57 that I bought from an old farmer who got all caught up in the Dirty Harry craze and couldn't find any model 29's.  TRouble with me was, one day I just have to have a model 57 and a week later I'd read an article about something else, and well, you know........   I don't do it too much anymore - but there are a few guns I would most definitely buy back if I could.  I bought the 57 back from the guy I sold it to.  Lucky for me, he was impulsive as I was, and wanted the money for some other gun he saw.   :-D
