Mini-14 in 6.68mm?
« on: March 15, 2006, 11:03:14 AM »
Does anyone have any idea whether Ruger will chamber the Mini-14 in the new military 6.68 mm caliber?

I know Ruger tried to put the .308 in a Mini-14, but was never able to do it and eventually dropped the project.

The 6.8x43 SPC is DOA for the military from EVERYTHING that I've read.

Ruger won't even offer a stiffer barrel much less different chamberings, why change what sells I guess.

If you really want a 6.8mm Mini though the$e guy$ will build it for you.  http://accuracysystemsinc.com/ruger_mini_prices.html

I didn't know the 6.8 mm was dead with the military.

I was thinking about getting a 6.8x43 SPC upper half for my AR-15. I think it would make a pretty good deer round. I haven't done it because I'm not sure it will be around to much longer. I don't reload so I don't want to take the chance. NYH!
