Looking for a cheap pellet gun

Hi, I am an avid airsoft player, but most of the time I just use my guns for target shooting. I realize that airsoft guns have very low power and range compared to pellet guns, so I am thinking of buying one just for plinking.

I want to spend around $50, but I can afford a little more depending on the rifle. I don't need anything that is top quality, I'll just be using it to shoot cans and such. However, it needs to be durable and built well.

I don't know too much about bb guns really. If I get a Techforce gun, do I have to manually load each pellet. I would like something with a clip that has a fairly decent rate of fire. Are there any guns like this?

I was looking at the Crosman 781 or a Techforce rifle. I'd really appreciate some suggestions.

You'll get more speed out of the crosman 760 . It is a tough gun and will do most of what you want. I grew up with this one.. Killed a lot of cans/varmints and a few bunnies.  fun to shoot. .. An air gun like any gun is about accuracy not rate of fire.

Try Wally World. I picked up a Daisey 1000fps rifle with scope for about $100. A .177 caliber. Very accurate and powerful. :D

I ended up buying an upgraded B3 from some guy on another forum. As you know, the Cummins B3 can be a very nice gun for $20, but they also have their share of problems. Most of these are just due to bad assembly or seals.

Well, this guy disassembles the whole gun and tunes it. He polishes every metal part, conditions the seals, installs a heavier spring (optional), etc. Many people have bought these models from him and reported quarter sized groupings at 50yds, ~725fps, and smoother cocking effort.

He also refinishes the stock with stain or bedliner. I bought the bedlinered version because it looks pretty cool and will never wear off. His prices are unbelievablely affordable. Send him an email:

the  1077 RepeatAir is a co2 and has a 12 shot mag and it's 65$ at www.southsummit.com i have also seen it for 45$ at kmart or you can get a NightStalk for 99$ at http://www.pyramydair.com. the POWERLINE 953 TargetPro need no co2 and has a 5 shot mag and cost 72$ at www.pyramydair.com they all have mag and can kill small game too!
