On a two day match do you clean your guns at the end of the first day???

Nope. I might wipe em down, but unless it was raining or extremely dusty I don't bother.

Nope, I don't clean em. I inspect em, and knock off any big hunks I see. I also check all the screws, on all the guns, to be certain they are tight. I also check all my leather for loose or missing rivets, and chicago screws, or stiching that is pulling out. This takes a very minimal amount of time, and allows me to feel confidant in my equipment.

After any match is over I do clean all the guns very thouroughly. But I am an inspection freak. I have never had a firearm fail because it was too dirty, but I have had failures related to loose screws, or non- firearms equipment fail cuz something broke and I didn't catch it before the shootin starts.

Ya says, ya sposed ta clean 'em, i didn't know they was good eatin! :-D Anywho, shooting the holy black, I'll wipe down the barrel with mule snot, and dry it out good, same goes for the cylinder and charge holes also wipe down the cylinder rod and replace the grease with fresh, then I know she's a ready for another day of shooting, don't take but a couple of minutes. got this thing in my head . Dad saying if'n you shoot em you clean em!!!!!
So after every shooting I clean all the guns and get ready for the next day.

Yup! Bein' a darksider, it's a prerequisite.

However I don't "detail" strip and clean until after the second days shootin is over.

I got cocky and didn't clean my Marlin beyond a quick flush and wipe, and the rifle punished me for it by jammin' hard on the last stage of a two day shoot. Me Roogers hafta look out fer they stainless selves, and why would anyone clean a shotgun? Wholly Black and sulfurous all.

A clean gun is a happy gun

I clean and inspect mine after every outing. Sometimes on the tailgate of my truck right after a match while I'm bs'n with my pards.
