I bought a Remington 870 Express JR.
« on: October 25, 2004, 10:09:28 AM »
The Remington 870 Express JR. is a 20 gauge with a 12 inch "length of pull" stock and a 18.5 inch vent rib barrel with the Remchoke system. I bought it for my wife and kids. The 12" LOP is great for smaller kids and adults as well. The "Youth gun" has a 13" LOP and the regular shotgun has a LOP of 14". I wish they would make this set up in 28 gauge. The recoil is pretty stout for a small child even with Remington's new "light recoil" ammo. But it fits my 11 year old daughter and my wife really well. I don't think the recoil will bother them to much!

My daughter loves hers.  Got it for her a few years back when she was 11.  Great shotguns.  A 28 ga would be nice though, but the extra 20 ga punch will be better on the ducks and such.

You guys have found what I need for my son.

Question though.  What I have found on their web site are the Wingmaster JR (TOO EXPENSIVE ) and the Wild Turkey JR model.  I want this gun in the plain jane 870 Express.  What configuration and where did you get them???

Wild Turkey Jr. Model ......

Wild turkey model is the least expensive version of the "junior" M870's.  Remington hasn't committed to build "express" Junior M870's, and the WTFD are not that more expensive.

I bought my daughters Rem. 870 Express at Academy Sporting Goods.
It takes 2 3/4" or 3" shells.Rem choke barrel and she shoots it well.
Price was right @ $189 new.

Opps,
Forget to mention that it was the youth model in 20ga.

Good luck and good hunting,
