Richmond shows dead
« on: April 02, 2006, 10:29:02 AM »
'Went to both Richmond gun shows this last month.  'Was amazed at how few tables and what light attendence I saw, even at peak hours.  There were mostly junk, non-gun, displays.  Of couse, the "Brothers" were crowding the pistol and AK tables, while antique/ sporting guns were being ignored (maybe if they weren't priced at double reasonable rates...).
Anyway, I finally figured out what must be going on; last falls BATF sting had scared off many "dealers" and customers!  Whether or not they should be scared or not, it worked!

I stopped going years ago because of the lack of quality sporting arms.  The shows that come through this area are either for guys looking for Surplus stuff, low quality stuff, or assault rifles.

I have to agree, most of the stuff I see is para military.  There does seem to be less and less sporting type rifles at the shows.
