Florida must really be messed up if a supermarket can get a law passed that only applies to their parking lots.  Glad I don't live there!

Any property owner or business manager can say that someone is trespassing on their property or premises for whatever reason.

The point is that they have to tell that person that they are tresspassing and then also tell them that they have to leave the property or premise.

It's not illegal to walk on the property with a firearm, but if they tell you to leave and you refuse, they can file charges to have you prosecuted for tresspassing.

At least that's how it works in Texas.
They may talk of a "New Order" in the  world, but what they have in mind is only a revival of the oldest and worst tyranny.   No liberty, no religion, no hope.   It is an unholy alliance of power and pelf to dominate and to enslave the human race.

Yep, same in Ky. In general, if they post a sign saying "no firearms" then technically it's illegal for you to carry there but it's a crime with no punishment.  It's when they ask you to leave and you don't that you get in trouble.  Now, if you buck them, they can permanently ban you from the property and then can get you for trespassing whether you are carrying or not.

I was a small business owner for several years and I allowed people to smoke and carry guns. I also allowed them to bring food and drink on the premises. If they walked in naked or partially clothed they were asked to leave. As a business owner I have the "Right to Discriminate". No reason need be provided to the customer when denying service.......

Nuff said.

I understood this to mean that this store was asking for legislation unique to them to ban weapons in the parking lot.  I understand the idea of a business owner having the right to ask for enforcement of a law as it applies to him.  Perhaps Florida isn't so bad after all.  If they passed laws for each business they would be at it for a while...

I guess they have a right to ban guns on their property...but will potential robbers, killers or police agencies listen..? Will those three categories leave their firearms "safely at home " ?

They probably have such a right...but WE also have the right to tell people who believe in our Constitution about it and not ever enter their parking lot  ( or stores) again...
