Recycling spent stuff

I'm interested in finding out the economics and processes of recycling spent bullet and cartridge metals in the bulk quantities seen at indoor ranges. Can you point me to some good info? Thanks.

At our local recycling vendor, a month or two ago brass (as in spent cases) was getting about $0.90/lb and lead was fetching $0.10/lb.  They'll take copper jacketed bullets as lead.

Most ranges limit you to brass boxer primed ammo and once it hits the ground it becomes the range's brass. Many then collect the brass and hulls and sell them to reloaders. Modern ranges have a built in lead recycling system and every 3-5 years the will go back and collect the lead.

Rather than selling your copper jacket bullets, why not melt them down? Even if you don't cast bullets, you must fish and they make sinkers.
