Big bore ?
« on: March 20, 2006, 03:34:01 PM »
I'm wanting to get a big bore barrel for my encore the biggest I have had is a .44 mag I was thinking of getting a .444 marlin, 450 marlin, 45-70 gov. 480 ruger or .50S&W recoil isn't that big of consern I'm really leaning towards the 444 marlin or 45-70 just because of the brass is easyer to get around here. Just wanted some info from you guys about all these caliburs.

It is all a matter of personal choice. The 500 Mag's recoil in an Encore is a lot more than you may think. If you have decided on the 444 or the 45-70, I think the 45-70 would be a better choice because of bullet selection.
If  you're going to make a hole, make it a big one.
