Problem

Hi everybody, I've ordered and paid for a Tulle French Fusil in .62 caliber at Narragansett Armes wich supposed to be delivered last May and I can't reach them anymore by e-mail or by phone. Do someone know if they still in business? Thanks for your help.

Well,,6-10 months after "delivery date" isn't uncommon amongst builders.

 Yet,, having no response from them after payment is un-exceptable!!!!

8ball44,, please post here all of the info you have for this outfit as far as address, ph#, and e-mail,,and maybe us "stateside" folks can help!!

 This is a BP group and we'er all in this together!!

Think about it fellers!! If you put money up-front and theres a delay well tuff-luck,,,,,,,,,,BUT No Contact!!!

Finally I've just reach Narragansett's on phone and he tell me that my gun should be delivered in three weeks! I am very happy. I'll post here how this baby will shoot at the range, I read that his guns are great shooters. I will use it for reenactment AND deer hunting.

I just tried several ways to locate Narragansett. Bupkes. I would get stuff like PLAIN TALK RADIO, and "I'm sorry, this address does not exist."

This is not good.

Phil Edwards, a nice guy and first-class businessman, sold the business about a year ago, or so. So he cannot help you.

What I suggest is to gather your receipts, cancelled checks, and, if you're really lucky, credit card statements.

If you completed the transaction via credit card, you can dispute the charge and receive full credit.

If you kept receipts -- I saw you're from Canada -- call toll-free US Government directory assistance. This is NOT 411. They will furnish you with toll-free number for US Postal Inspectors' Service. Call them 24 hours a day. Furnish the information they ask for.

Then wait. With luck you will recover your investment.

Thanks Naphtali. I could recover my money from the credit card company only if i would have made a complaint within 120 days after the order made so... not a good news for me... I made a complaint on the Consumer Sentinel, time will tell.

Finally, beleive it or not, it did comes in this afternoon after a long 3 years waiting but it did worth it. I did ordered a Custom Made French Fusil de chasse Tulle in .62 caliber (20 gauge) from Narragansett Armes in December 2003. I want to thanks Mr Terry McClain and tell that he is a real good rifle builder. This gun is an exact replica of the guns witch originals are displayed in the Parks Canada Museum in Ottawa and it saw use in Canada and the Mississippi River valley in the end of the 1600's up to the 7 years war that ended in 1761. The one difference between the two regions models was the furniture that was made from iron for Canada and of brass for the more humid Bayou's climate. The stock is made of walnut as the originals. Some refurbished models are seen in maple because a fire did burn the arsenal in Montréal in the early 1700.
Even that these guns were unisued by the French military these guns were praised beacause of it's ruggedness and light weight (6½ pounds) by French military officers, militians, farmers, voyageurs and even by the Evil British officers when they could luckyly found one. :-D
Now I did just need to polish it a bit with oil and 0000 steel wool to help stopping the antique processing for a short period of time.
