Cell phones banned from locker rm
« on: March 22, 2006, 02:58:09 PM »
I just got home from the health club.  They had a new sign up in the locker room banning cell phones.  At first it was real confussing, so I went to the front desk and asked why.  Well it seem someone in Anchorage had taken a camera phone into the locker room and photos of nude people were posted on the internet.  Oops!  I told them there was no reason to bann them from the men's locker room, no one wanted to take photos of naked old fat men anyway, just bann them from the ladies room.  The woman at the front desk did not think that was funny.

I've heard that this making unauthorized oil paintings in locker rooms is a bit of a problem too

Told my wife about this last night.  Told her what I had told the front desk, she went balistic, I dove for cover.  She is upset I feel that way, someone might take a picture of her darling 17 year old boy and post them on the internet.  Now she does not want him to spend any more time in the locker room than absolutely neccessary.  He's also to keep a lookout for anyone using a camera phone.  She's afraid the gay communitee might get his picture.  I had to dodge her the rest  of the night.

Cell phones of any type are banned from schools for that and other reasons.  Kids use the camera feature to take all kinds of pictures and post them on the internet.  THere are a lot of sick people out there.

Dave, did not know cell phones were banned from schools.  My kid has been carrying one since he was 8, he's 17 now.  Carries it everyday, just turns it off during class.  They pass them around at lunch time and load eachothers numbers into them.  But we don't have camera phones here either.  They work in Fairbanks but not here in North Pole.
