forearm screw size

Hey everybody, got a question. I need a new forearm screw for my handi. I ordered a new stock bolt and forearm screw (free) from H&R, but they only sent the stock bolt. What size is the forearm screw? I would rather go to Home Depot and get one than call and order another one.

1/4" but it may be either 20 or I think 24 tpi depending on when it was made. 3/4" long. Just take the barrel in the store with you and try them. Try to go to a small local store rather than the big box if possible. They usually have single pieces for sale instead of having to buy 10.

The forend hanger screw is a ¼"x20x½" flathead machine screw.

I think the new ones are all 1/4-20 TPI. My old Toppers from the original H&R are 1/4-28.

Thanks fellas. I think I'll just buy a few different ones and that should take care of it.
