I have had great luck with the swift scirroco in lager cal. Has anyone tried the 90 gr for 243. Have a 243 that I havn't found anything thats shoots in it yet. Most of my reloading is with the s scirroco and would like some feedback on the 243. thanks, DM

My Savage 243 win likes all bullets tested so far with Sierra 85 hpbt giving the best groups(.668) Hornady 100 gr sp(.889) gives the best performance on Deer. The Sierras do not hold together as well as the Hornady. Your preferance. Many of my shots are at distances of 150 to 225 yds and Quartering so I prefer the Hornady to give better penetration with exit hole for blood trail if the deer makes it to the heavy woods.
My Howa handles all bullets acceptably but not as accurate as the Savage. I use Hornady 100 sp or Nosler 100 partition. It groups 1 1/2" at best so a little variation in the grouping is not significant. Head shots at 200 yds are irresponsible with the Howa. The Howa is the ultralite and handles great with adequate accuracy for body shot placement.
There are many excellant bullets so pick several and test each. Many users of the 243 brag on the Nosler ballistic tips. They just aren't as accurate in my rifles as other designs.

I use Nosler 100gr. solid base BT spitzer, the old red and black box. Before those ballistic tip bullets came out,bad mistake on Nosler. Barnes aregood and so is Speer!

If you reload:
95-grain Swift Scirocco bullet over a healthy dose of a 4350-type powder.
If you don't reload:
95-grain Swift Scirocco in Remington's premium factor ammo or the 95-grain Fusion.

Just a minor correction, the Swift is a 90gr not 95. The Nosler Partition is a 95gr and they have a 100gr, not sure why both. Wish Nosler made a 100gr Accubond bullet. Or ANY accubond for the 6mm for that matter.
