Without a doubt it is my CZ 527 Lux/American. It began life as a CZ 527 Lux with the Turkish Walnut humpback stock and iron sights on the barrel. For the glass top I mounted a cheap Simmons Whitetail Classic in 6.5x20x50. That rifle is petite, the scope looked like a warhorse with a crinkle-cut finish. Actually, it looked like a television set mounted on top of the rifle, what with the 50mm objective lens and all. I took the front sight off and filled the screw hole with a dummy screw. I drifted the rear sight out of its ring on the barrel. I still had problems with the humpback stock trying to find the proper sight picture. One day I read that CZ-USA sold aftermarket stocks in American Walnut and maple, so I bought a fancy grade American Walnut stock for it, did some minor inletting to allow for the rear sight band on the barrel, glass bedded the action and dropped the barreled action in the stock. With my handloads the thing will print five 50 gr. Hornady SX bullets into an area slightly larger than my little fingernail. That stock is just downright beautiful. It looks like a chunk of chocolat marble. I just got through ordering a new glass top for it from The Optic Zone, a Bushnell Elite 3200 in 7x21x40. I had no problem with the other scope. It worked very well, but it sure detracted from the overall looks of the rifle. I think this new scope will be a lot better for it. So, that is why I call my rifle a CZ 527 Lux/American. That puppy is one, very accurate little mini-mauser rifle. Thanks for allowing me to rant. Tom Purdom.
