sierra 69 grain bthp and coyotes???
« on: April 07, 2006, 10:31:30 AM »
I have an ar15 that really likes to shoot and group Sierra 69 grain bthp.  Does anyone have any experience hunting coyotes with this particular bullet?  What kind of pelt damage can I expect??  My load is running about 2,600 fps.

You will have less pelt damage with the 69 gr bullet than you would with the lighter bullets at those velocitys. Your Ar will handle the heavier bullets better on account of a faster twist. I would reccomend a Non- hollow point because they have a tendency to come apart at slower speed.
By doing this i don't think you will lose any of your accuracy. This should be a fine rig for any Varmint. Good luck :D ......Joe........
