Dropped my .270 Winchester - Cracked the fa
« on: April 25, 2006, 11:23:02 AM »
...now there is a fracture from the bolt indent in the walnut going forward about 4 inches.

How should I go about "wood welding" the stock.  It would seem counter productive to "spread" the split for insertion of glue.

Any suggestions?

You could try and put some type of rubber bushing around the crack, as to be able to force glue into all parts of the crack, and then put some rubber butted clamps on it for a couple of days.
"At least with a gun that big, if you miss and hit the rocks in front of him it'll stone him to death..."

I would pose this question in the gunsmithing forum if you haven't already.
