Stevens 200 .243 won't shoot worth a darn ?
« on: June 13, 2006, 04:38:54 PM »
I've tried just about every factory ammo in it plus a few dozen handloads and it shoots patters not groups. Yes it has a good scope on it. Any suggestions ?  Most comments I've heard is they are good shooters. :x

Try sliding a dollar bill between the barrel and forend, it should slide easily. Check your stock screws, make sure they are snug. My 200 7-08 shoots MOA while my 200 25-06 shoots 1 1/2"

you should recheck the scope and the mounts.
Put another scope you know to be good on it,
when was th4e last time you gave it a real good cleaning and made sure you do not have any copper build-up in the barrel
check the crown make sure it is square and not damage
