What Height for Scope Rings?
« on: March 30, 2006, 05:38:08 AM »
I recently purchased a Mueller scope with a 44 mm objective, which I am planning on mounting on my .204 Handi.  Which height rings do you suggest I use to mount the scope to my gun?  I am not super particular about brand, so I am open to most suggestions - with the exception of the Weaver tip off rings.  I don't really like those so much.
Thanks,
Loki

I have medium Burris Signature Zees mounting my Eraticator on my .204 Handi, same scope as the Tactical, but with IR and larger AO.

If it helps I have Warne Hi's on a Tasco Varmint 6-24x42 mounted on a Survivor and probably could have gone with medium-hi or maybe mediums.

Thanks Stomp, that's an older limited issue stock that H&R apparently offered at one time, there are others around, got this one on ebay.

What is the difference between the Burris Zees and the Burris Signature Zees?  I notice that there is a price difference between them of about $10 to $15 at most places.  Is it the plastic inserts?  Does it really make a difference?
Thanks,
Loki

Yes, the Signatures have the inserts which don't require lapping which means no scope tube damage. They also allow the use of the offset inserts.
